Above all else, I think of tarot as an incredible tool for clarity. Getting really clear on what you have, want, and believe is incredibly helpful and validating. Tarot cards can provide answers to your questions, and give you a glimpse of what you are setting yourself up for – that is, where you are headed, if you choose to continue going the way you are going, and doing what you are doing. But best of all, they can clarify what is going on in your present: in your head, in your heart, and in the daily happenings of your life. If you have a specific question, tarot can help. If you have a general curiosity, tarot can guide. If you want a general check in on where you’re at in your life and how you’re doing, tarot can do that. If you have a creative block, tarot can help. If you’re stuck in a project, tarot can help. If you have a decision to make, tarot can help. If you want more clarity in your life, get a tarot card reading.

As often as you like. The questions you could ask are limitless. However, it’s a good idea to give yourself some time to work with the insights gained from your reading before jumping into the next one, to allow the reading to have the most impact. Most people do well to have an in-depth reading once a month, with lighter questions added in between as desired.

The cards can seem mysterious, but they’re not magic. They’re pictures printed on little pieces of paper. They work not by magic, but by speaking the right language to be able to communicate with our unconscious mind. The unconscious speaks in symbols (which is why dreams can seem so weird!), and the tarot’s images use those symbols. In this way, tarot cards can be a great tool to allow for a conversation between the conscious and the subconscious mind. My job as a card reader is to interpret those symbols for you.

Through a lot of practice and study, and by letting my intuition chime in. I am trained and certified as a professional card reader, and continue to advance my understanding through personal research and exploration of: symbolism, psychology, art, dreams, culture, creativity, astrology, herbal medicine, queer theory, disability justice, anti-racism, trauma work, somatic experiencing, ancestral work, and of course tarot itself.

I can read your cards without you telling me a single thing about yourself or your situation. But if you are willing to let me guide an open conversation between us, then it will not only help me to know whether I am on the right track or not, but will also provide you with a more personal and precise reading, and a richer and ultimately more helpful experience. You do not have to tell me anything you don’t want to. Some information is helpful, but nothing in mandatory.

Your fate is not fixed; you have free will. Tarot will not tell you about the inevitable, however it can give you a flavour of what you are setting yourself up for, if you choose to continue on your current path. If you don’t like the cards that indicate your likely outcome, then you can make different choices. The future aside, tarot readings are wonderful tools for offering clarity in your present situation. They can also help with creative blocks or ideas for a project. Focusing on your present is usually much more helpful.

Absolutely not. While a lot of people do ask about something they want help with, just as many people ask for an overview on their lives – sort of like a spiritual check-in. I have also helped people with creative projects – coming up with ideas, revising ideas, rewriting story lines, overcoming blocks, and generating inspiration. A lot of questions can stem from a place of keenness for personal growth, without there being a particular obstacle.

Yes and no – you are welcome to propose any question you might have, but I will not use the cards to predict exact timings or for any unethical purposes. I am happy to help you formulate a question to support you in your growth.

Tarot is more about personal understanding and experience than formal training; however, I have both. I have been tracking my dreams since childhood, fascinated by the potent symbolism of the subconscious mind. I became hooked on tarot at age 13 and came to realize that the images on the cards are the same archetypal imagery as found in dreams. I pursued this exploration of symbolic imagery to an honours-degree in fine art. I have studied under a tarot elder who has been reading professionally for over 50 years; have taken professional tarot training courses; read many books; and have many, many hours of professional experience under my belt. I bring my knowledge and experience as a queer, chronically ill, and neurodivergent individual to the table as well, seeking to serve others in these communities well. I continue to self-educate on trauma, attachment styles, and healing, so that I can hold space with care, and offer the most loving and compassionate readings that I can.

Generally, one question (or at least one topic) per tarot reading helps to keep the messages clear. Multiple questions means multiple readings, for which I would suggest booking the 1.5 hour time slot; or come back for multiple sessions.
